NARROW DEFEAT AGAINST THE NORTH

The North came from behind to clinch an impressive victory in a high quality game at Repton.  The South had taken the lead midway through the first half when Ben Le Rougetel’s shot was blocked but he was quick to react as he fired home the rebound from the edge of the area.  However, the North started the second half well and missed two good chances before Will Gibbons equalised with a fine goal after fluent play down the left.  Matty Bowman then hit the winner to clinch victory for the North.

Sunday 13th November 
ISFA South 'Red' (3) vs. Somerset (4)

An enjoyable, high quality game between ISFA U16 South and Somerset was played out in excellent conditions.  Both sides started impressively with fast and dynamic football on show and it was ISFA who took the lead with a smart finish from Gordon Gutske (Millfield).  Somerset equalised and then took the lead before a lovely cut back again found Gutske who finished impressively.  Somerset again fought back, taking the lead before Gutske smashed home a header after good work down the right.  There was some impressive football on show from both sides and it was Somerset who went on to win the game with a late goal.

ISFA 'Blue' vs Kent

In the early stages, both teams pressed high and cancelled each other out but ISFA began to play the ball around more freely and created several chances. After a chipped passed in behind the Kent defence, Gordon Gutske (Millfield) lobbed the goalkeeper before heading into an empty net to put ISFA 1-0 up. Minutes later ISFA doubled their lead as other pass in behind the defence saw Eduard Toiny-Pendred (Aldenham) calmly place the ball past the keeper. the second half Kent came out of the blocks very quickly and gave ISFA no time to settle and as ISFA tired, Kent took advantage, scoring some fantastic individual goals to draw level and then take the lead.  Well done to both teams for entertaining game that highlighted the high level of schoolboy football. 

ISFA 'White' vs Kent

ISFA U16 White team put on an impressive display against a strong Kent Schools side. ISFA took the lead courtesy of a superb individual effort from Oliver Welbourn (Bedes) driving home from 25 yards out. Minutes later, ISFA then doubled their advantage, with Ethan Pizzano (Ardingly)arriving late at the back post to finish off an excellent cross.  Although pegged back to 2-2 following some good play from Kent, ISFA regained the lead following an excellent goal from Aalem Rahim (Radnor House) before Kent equalised late on.  This was an entertaining game with impressive performances throughout.

ISFA U16 South White vs. Essex U17 'A'

The U16 ISFA South 'A' side put on a superb footballing display to defeat Essex U17 'A' by 3 goals to 2 at the Chigwell School Playing Fields. Controlling possession in the early stages, some excellent combinations in midfield released Alex Ford (Charterhouse) on the left to open the scoring with an excellent finish into the far corner. After a brief setback in the second half, the ISFA team quickly regained their rhythm, running out 3-2 winners after a superb team goal and a great finish from Will Donkin (Eton) after an excellently-worked set piece.

ISFA U16 South Blue vs. Essex U17 'B'

After a cautious start from both teams, the first half saw ISFA and Essex battle to gain the advantage and control of the game. In the second half, ISFA began to assert more control, passing the ball more fluently and creating several chances that they were just unable to convert. However, it was Essex that took the lead scoring twice after two mix ups in the ISFA defence.  ISFA battled back and scored a deserved goal to get them back into the game.  As the game wore on ISFA tried hard to equalise but Essex held firm and secured the win with a 2-1 victory.
