ISFA NORTH U16 REPRESENTATIVE TEAM

NORTH COME FROM BEHIND TO WIN

Sunday 27th November
ISFA NORTH 2 ISFA SOUTH 1
at Repton School

The North came from behind to clinch an impressive victory in a high quality game at Repton.  The South had taken the lead midway through the first half when Ben Le Rougetel’s shot was blocked but he was quick to react as he fired home the rebound from the edge of the area.  However, the North started the second half well and missed two good chances before Will Gibbons equalised with a fine goal after fluent play down the left.  Matty Bowman then hit the winner to clinch victory for the North.

Wednesday 26th October
ISFA North 5 Oldham Athletic 1
at Oldham Athletic Training Ground

In the first half Oldham started the better of the two teams almost scoring in the third minute of play. It wasn't long before ISFA began to take control of the match and following a good move on the right wing, Matthew Bowman (Scarborough) delivered a low cross for Gabriel McGill (St. Peter's, York) to finish past the goalkeeper. Nassouh Kabbani (Manchester) headed a second for ISFA from a corner and Gabriel McGill added a third. Connor Davis (Bolton) kept Oldham out saving excellently down to his right. In the second half Sebastian Marsi (Bury) added a goal after rounding the goalkeeper. Felix Zambelli (Manchester) in the ISFA goal saved well to stop Oldham getting on the score sheet but could not stop a headed effort following a corner from the right. Gabriel McGill completed his hat-trick moments later after again linking well with Matthew Bowman who crossed for Gabriel to head home at the far post. The final score finished 5-1 to ISFA.
