OVER 250 GIRLS TAKE PART IN GIRLS FOOTBALL WEEK FESTIVAL
Over 250 girls from schools across the country took part in a special Girls Football Week Festival that took place at LVS Ascot School. As part of the FA’s Girls Football Week ISFA, ISA and LVS Ascot School came together to put on a day of girl’s football with competitions for U11, U13, and U15 age groups. Alongside the main matches the girls also got to take part in skills sessions delivered by WSL 1 club Reading Women FC, goalkeeper masterclasses and have their photo taken with the Women’s FA Cup.
ISFA National Football Development Manager Ian Bent was delighted with the success of the day. “To have well over 250 girls taking part is absolutely fantastic and a further sign of the continued growth of girls football within the sector. The FA Girls Football Week is a great initiative to get more girls active and playing football, and we are delighted to support this and do our bit. A huge thanks must go to Matt Humphreys at LVS Ascot School and ISA for organising today’s event, and to The FA for supporting the day with the Women’s FA Cup. Hopefully this can become an annual event”.
