SOUTH-EAST U13 SEVEN-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT

SURBITON HIGH SCHOOL CLAIM U13 SUMMER TITLE

On a sizzling hot day at Alleyn’s School fourteen teams competed in the annual ISFA U13 Girls Summer Tournament, with the teams split into two groups and the best two teams from each group qualifying for the semi-finals.

In group A, Bedford modern led the way winning all six group matches without conceding a goal to top the group, with Brentwood and Alleyn’s battling out to the very last game to claim second spot, with only goal difference separating them as Alleyn’s School claimed the second semi-final spot. In group B, Surbiton High matched the achievements of Bedford Modern winning all six matches without conceding a goal, whilst The Abbey also produced a strong series of results by winning five straight matches to claim the runner-up spot and a place in the semi-finals.

Both semi-finals were close competitive matches with Surbiton High and The Abbey claiming 1-0 victories to set-up a repeat of their opening match in the final. The final was an excellent competitive game and was won by an excellent strike late on as Surbiton ran out 1-0 winners and claimed the victory their play throughout the day had deserved.

ISFA National Football Development Manager, Ian Bent, was delighted with the number of schools participating and the quality of football on display. “It was great to see fourteen teams battling it out in the sunshine today, and it is a further sign of the continued growth of girls football within ISFA. It’s not just the numbers that are getting better, but also the quality of players and teams, with some excellent football on display throughout the day. Huge thank you to Alleyn’s School for hosting today’s event, and also to today’s match officials”.
