STROUD SCHOOL HOST U8s FESTIVAL

Stroud School hosted a mixed, U8 festival on Saturday 15th October which wad enjoyed by 64 pupils. The festival was designed to promote enjoyment and inclusion without any pressure on results or winning. Matches were played 5v5 in a round-robin format with each team enjoying 5 games of football.

This was the first mixed football tournament hosted at Stroud School and the involvement of both girls and boys was well received from parents and staff. It was excellent to see all the players enjoying their football in a positive and encouraging environment.

STROUD HOST SECOND JUNIOR HUB SCHOOL FESTIVAL

Stroud School hosted their second Junior Hub School festival of the year as they hosted their annual U10 football tournament at Wellington Sports Ground with 81 pupils taking part from 9 different schools. The opening stages produced several outstanding games with all teams demonstrating high skill levels and confidence. The thrilling entertainment continued into the semi-finals with all four games going to ‘golden goal’ and ultimately penalty shootouts. Whilst this is never a good way to go out of the tournament credit must go to all the players who demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship throughout. Congratulations to The Pilgrims’ School who won the Cup and Springhill Catholic Primary School who won the Plate.

A big thank you must go to King Edward VI School who kindly provided the catering and Sixth Form pupils to referee all matches.

STROUD HOST THEIR FIRST FESTIVAL

The tournament was a huge success and there was plenty of positive feedback from parents, coaches and players.

Stroud are delighted to be part of the ISFA Junior Hub School programme and are looking forward to this event growing in the coming years.
