This session will be for all the U13 players and for the first time, the newly recommended U12's.

LONDON GO DOWN TO ALDERSHOT

Saturday 26th November
ISFA LONDON U13 5 ALDERSHOT TOWN 8

The London Independent Schools FA U13 team played their first fixture of the season against Aldershot Towns’ U13 Academy team afternoon at Barn Elms. The boys played very well, bearing in mind they had never played together before, against an Academy side who approached the game with an excellent attitude and tried to play from the back wherever possible.

ISFA eventually went down 8-5 in a very evenly contested match, winning the final quarter 2-0. Well done boys.

DETAILS FOR SEASON 2016-17

Our Programme aims to develop all recommended players and welcomes new additions throughout the process over the next 11 months. The final squad will be selected in February 2017 and will comprise of, what we believe, to be the best 18 players available to represent us from within the M25 at that time.

We have planned two sessions for the remainder of this season and then will meet approximately once a month between September and the Festival at the beginning of April 2017.  These sessions will be complemented with a number of midweek evening fixtures (I will provide the details for the fixtures as soon as they have been confirmed).

All the sessions will take place from 1500-1700 on Saturdays at our usual venue:

Walton Excel Leisure Centre, Waterside Drive, Walton-on-Thames, KT12 2JG

I fully appreciate that this involves a substantial commitment for some of you, but I believe it is worth it as the facilities are first class (we have access to a large 4G surface), there is ample free parking, a cafeteria, all the normal facilities that you would associate with a large leisure centre and local shopping in Walton. All this is based on the bank of the River Thames.

It is fantastic that seven of London's 19 players have been selected for Oakham and a further five will be involved in the National Programme via Regional events.  Congratulations to all of those selected and commiserations to those that have not. Please remember that, although selection is final, many players who missed out at this time in previous years have gone on to represent ISFA later in their school careers. The door is never closed and teachers continue to recommend players who continue to perform well throughout their time at school.

Many thanks for all your help and support over the last few years. Without your flexibility and understanding we would have been unable to reach this point. Thanks also to Richard, Hasib and Kevin for their efforts and professionalism over the weekend and throughout the programme and also tothank Lee G, Lee W and Spencer who have also worked with the boys over the last few years.

Finally I would like to thank ISFA for organising a programme which gives the boys the opportunity to experience high quality football in a professional and progressive environment.  All that is left to do is to thank all the players for their effort, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Their behaviour and application on and off the pitch was first class and they have been a credit to London ISFA.

I hope to see you all again soon and am confident that some of the boys have great futures ahead of you.
