ISFA INTRODUCES NEW SCHEME

WHAT DOES “ISFA ACCREDITED COMPETITION” MEAN?

An independent schools football league or competition which has the ISFA Accredited Competition Status shows that:

  • All participants involved in that specific football league or competition, including officials, are playing in a safe and insured environment.
  • All playing regulations are in line with ISFA and The FA (National Governing Body).
  • All schools involved in the football league or competition are members of ISFA, therefore, playing affiliated football.
  • The competition has been approved by ISFA and is therefore affiliated to The FA.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR THE “ISFA ACCREDITED COMPETITION” STATUS?

Independent School football leagues and competitions which are not directly run through ISFA can, and are encouraged, to apply for the accreditation e.g. regional independent school football leagues and one day competitions. Having this status shows that the competition is affiliated to, and has been approved by ISFA and therefore, the National Governing Body.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BECOMING AN ISFA ACCREDITED COMPETITION?

Overall, ISFA Accredited Competition status, is a clear demonstration to all parents, schools, sponsors and the public, that the league or competition:

  • Is well-organised, safe and follows FA regulations.
  • Uses FA qualified referees (registered to youth football)
  • Adheres to the FA Respect Polices, ISFA Code of Conduct and priorities Child Welfare.
  • Has access to the ISFA workforce for support.
  • Can use the ISFA Accredited Competition logo on its marketing material.

As well as the above, leagues or competitions with the ISFA Accredited Competition status will also receive:

  • Support from ISFA with their web-based league administration system (where needed).
  • Contact emails for County FA referee development officers to support referee appointments.
  • Marketing support from ISFA including a page on the ISFA website where results, match reports and photos can be published, as well as social media promotion via the ISFA twitter page.

WHAT CRITERIA MUST BE FULFILLED TO ACHIEVE ISFA ACCREDITED COMPETITION STATUS?

To achieve the ISFA Accredited Competition status leagues or competitions must achieve the following criteria:

  • Have a competition administrator(s) who oversees the competition including this application process.
  • Ensure all schools involved in the league or competition are current member of ISFA (must be Independent Schools).
  • Ensure that the ISFA Code of Conduct, FA Respect Polices and FA guidelines relating to age groups and playing format are adhered to by all participating schools.
  • Agree to use FA registered referees (registered to youth football) or a qualified teacher for all fixtures.
  • Agree to ensure that correct insurance, medical and safeguarding procedures are in place at all fixtures in the league or competition.
  • Have a web-based administration system for fixtures and results. For example: Full-Time. (Only mandatory for leagues).

HOW TO APPLY

  • The process is completely free of charge.

  • Upon completion, ISFA will check that the criteria for the status has been met prior to approving. Once approved your competition will be awarded the “ISFA Accredited Competition” Status.
