Five schools took part in the Year 3 festival at Elstree School in late September 2019 as part of the ISFA Prep Community Hub Schools programme. Over 60 enthusiastic pupils were on hand to show their skills and energy in a festival that emphasised fun and plenty of action. All the players were mixed into new teams on the day, with two or three boys and girls from each school making up a team. Coached games were then played with 'finding space' the over riding theme. Everyone improved as the afternoon wore on and all involved, children and coaches, said they had learnt much from the session.
ELSTREE HOST GOALKEEPING CPD AS PART OF COMMUNITY HUB SCHOOL PROGRAMME
Elstree School continued its commitment as an ISFA Community Hub School organising a goalkeeping inset for staff at the beginning of term. A total of 22 teachers and coaches were put through their paces by Barry Fisher, an FA coach who specialises in goalkeeping. After an active warm up the coaches were introduced to the technical aspects of this position before putting them into practise in several conditioned activities. A very important position that is all too often overlooked will be all the better for the tiring and very informative afternoon. In addition to the CPD event Elstree School has also organised festivals as part of their work to develop prep schools football in their local area.
