Sunday 19th May
ISFA U13 0 WELSH SCHOOLS 2
Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre
The ISFA U13 National Team played an inaugural international friendly against Welsh Schools. This was the first time the ISFA side had met together as a Squad so the boys faced a huge task in playing against an experienced and well organised Welsh side.
In the first period ISFA were the stronger of the two sides. ISFA moved the ball well and created several opportunities. Adam Lonsdale worked well up front, combining nicely with ike Ezeanyika on the left. Leo Diaz Uehara was playing well, controlling the pace of the game, whilst Josh Mullins at centre back did well against some big Welsh forwards.
In the second period the Welsh team came back into the game and were started to create more opportunities, though it was ISFA who created the best chance of all but missed from the six yard box. The game went into the final period at 0-0 and the Welsh now started to press and finally got the breakthrough. ISFA pushed for the equaliser and narrowly missed again from within the six yard box but Wales then caught ISFA on the break and scored again to win the game 2-0. It was a great first fixture for these boys who can now look forward to representing ISFA at U14 level next season.
We look forward to a return fixture with Welsh Schools next year.
The following boys were represented to represent ISFA:
