ISFA U16 NORTH 5 ISFA U16 SOUTH 0
On a cold afternoon at Shrewsbury School, ISFA U16 North produced a superb display to beat the South. Settling quickly in to their passing game, the North started strongly....but it was the South with the first chance when Tyelr Payne (St. Paul's) hit the crossbar from the edge of the area. The North then took the lead through Charlie Dixon (Oswestry) and looked very dangerous going forward. The South had an opportunity on the counter to equalise but then the North took full control with another goal from Dixon and a superb strike from Gabriel Edbe (Brooke House College) to give the North a 3-0 lead at half time. The 2nd half was a more scrappy 40 minutes but the North sealed a deserved victory and a fine performance with 2 more goals from Dixon.
Congratulations to all players on their performances at the final trial before the National Team is selected.

ISFA U16 5 GUISELEY AFC 1
(Oldham Hulme Grammar School)
After an impressive victory against Oldham Athletic U16s last week, the ISFA U16 North team faced Guiseley AFC U16. Oldham Hulme Grammar School kindly hosted the fixture, on another sunny morning perfect for football. The side were keen to pick up where they left off from last week's performance and made it 1-0 shortly into the first half, with a fine finish from a 1v1 with the goalkeeper from Eno Nto. The ISFA side briefly to their foot off the gas and this saw Guiseley regain a foothold in the game. They soon made it 1-1 as their striker converted from a cross from their right wing. The ISFA boys responded well, through a superb strike into the top corner of the goal from Eno to regain the lead before half-time at 2-1.
In the second half, it was made 3-1 when Julio Plata Gonzalez threaded a lovely through ball to Joe McLoughlin, who slotted home comfortably from within the box. Zak Munir then made it 4-1 with a fantastic chip over the goalkeeper. The scoring was rounded up by Harvery Ormerod who took advantage of a quick switch of play.
Two wins out of two for the ISFA U16 North squad. The boys have conducted themselves excellently both collectively and individually.

ISFA U16 NORTH 3 OLDHAM ATHLETIC 1
(East Manchester Academy)
On an immaculate playing surface on a sunny October morning, the ISFA U16 North made a bright start to the game controlling the possession well. Against the run of play, Oldham broke down their right wing and crossed the ball for their striker to head home from close range to make it 1-0. The North continued to demonstrate character and continued to control a large portion of possession. Midway through the first half, the ball fell to Cian McDermott (Bolton School) to level the score at 1-1. The ISFA side showed maturity at the start of the second half, being patient in their build up play and looking to capitalise at the right opportunity against a very organised Oldham defence. The opportunity came to Charlie Dixon (Oswestry School), who broke through the Oldham defence and slotted home from close range, having rounded the keeper from a 1v1. Oldham's defence remained compact and organised throughout but Charlie lobbed the keeper and scored his second of the game with about fifteen minutes to go to make it 3-1. An impressive first game together in what was a competitive test for their first outing as an ISFA U16 North group. Onwards to Guiseley!
